How does your character think of their father? What do they hate and love about him? What influence - literal or imagined - did the father have?
angelo surprisingly does not actually think very deeply about his father that much, because when he does the cracks start to show and he literally cannot handle that so he just doesn't. in angelo's stupid head his dad is: judge jury and executioner; incapable of doing anything wrong; always right; the final word on a subject. and his whole life is about trying to get his dad to give him 1 iota of praise so like if anyone gets in the way of that then they are the problem, which is a REALLY hard thing to get out of because he's been living his whole life like this. even when the excuses for his dad are getting thinner and thinner angelo just will NOT budge on it because it's one of those things where it's like, if he pulls out that jenga block then the whole tower falls and there's some self-preservation part of him that just won't do it, even if he has a viable alternate support system. it's not about finding something new to replace his father, it's about the retrospective damage it would deal him to make these pertinent realisations at this point in his life.

all in all he has a very childish view of his dad which is why he acts without much logic when it comes to him. on this one subject he's still in that mindset of like, when you think your parents can do no wrong to you, before you realise that your parents are just as fallible as anyone else.
